Palm Beach Post Editorial: Potential Impact of All Aboard Florida

There is a flurry of activity, and interest, in regard to the All Aboard Florida project, as well as one of its counterparts, All NOT Aboard Florida.
I keep seeing claims in editorials and news stories about what vastly increased train traffic will do to generate tourist revenues for Palm Beach County. Some recent statistics quoted included that 32 million of southeast Florida’s passenger arrivals come in south of us (presumably Fort Lauderdale and Miami), and that one-third of those passengers are international visitors, “who are accustomed to the use of public transportation.” When I see statistics citing specific airports, and hard-to-check facts, that imply that one-third of the visitors arriving by plane are used to using public transportation, it concerns me.
