The Guardians of Martin County, the Boards of County Commissioners of Martin County and Indian River County, 
U.S. Representative Bill Posey, and others wrote to the Army Corps of Engineers to request an extension for the public comment period. At the same time, Guardians requested a public hearing on All Aboard Florida’s proposed projects. The Army Corps provided an extension until Wednesday, May 11, 2016.
