Golf.com is reporting that Jordan has an option on land just south of both the McArthur and Medalist golf clubs in Hobe Sound.
The Golf.com story said Jordan is known for his fast-paced play and has become increasingly frustrated with being slowed down at the Bear’s Club — where he built a $12.4 million mansion in 2010.
The story goes on to say Jordan would handpick the club’s membership — if the course is built — and that he is leaning toward employing architect Tom Doak to build it.
Doak was a student of famed course designer Pete Dye, and has four of his 30 public/private courses ranked among “Top 100 Courses in The World,” compiled by Golf Magazine.
The area in Hobe Sound where Jordan is looking to build is not only home to McArthur and the Medalist, but the Hobe Sound and Loblolly golf clubs are nearby, too.
