Brightline will pay for some crossing maintenance — but not on the Treasure Coast

Brightline says it will pay for railroad crossing maintenance for some communities but not the ones that have protested against the high-speed passenger rail. This includes Martin and Indian River Counties, who have filed lawsuits to try and stop the train from traveling through the Treasure Coast.

Studies show crossing maintenance will run $6.5 million over ten years for Martin County.  Costs for Indian River County run $8.3 million.
