The algae state of emergency in Martin County has been extended for another week.
It’s the 4th week in a row for the state of emergency.
The provision frees up funding and resources to fight the algae problem., including the use of volunteer workers, equipment rentals, and the acquisition and distribution of supplies materials and facilities.
You can follow along with the Department of Environmental Protection as it monitors the algae problem in south Florida on its website. To report algae blooms call the toll-free hotline at(855) 355-3903.
