Brightline Train Heading North Through Deerfield Beach
Indian River County and CARE FL (Citizens Against Rail Expansion in Florida) have been fighting against the train traveling through the region in court for several years due to safety and environmental concerns.
The cities reportedly in consideration include Stuart, Ft. Pierce, Vero Beach and Sebastian.
Brightline has asked the interested cities respond within 60 days.
Service between WPB and Ft. Lauderdale and Miami began this year. At least six people have been hit and died since the service began.
